Celtic are holding firm on their £30m valuation of first-choice left-back Kieran Tierney in the face of interest from Juventus, according to the Daily Record.
What’s the story, then?
The Daily Record report that the Bhoys are refusing to budge on their valuation of the Scotland international that has already put Everton off this summer.
They claim that European giants Juventus are now in the melting pot for Tierney’s signature, because they are aware of interest from Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United for Alex Sandro.
The report says that Celtic want the £30m for Tierney paid in one guaranteed upfront payment, and will reject any offers of a perfomance-related nature.
Bumper fee would allow Rodgers to go big for McGinn
As big a loss as Tierney would be, having a £30m transfer kitty to spend would effectively guarantee Celtic yet another title, so long as Brendan Rodgers doesn’t waste it.
Factoring in the £7m the sale of Stuart Armstrong raised, Celtic could afford to go straight out an pay the reported £4m asking price for Hibernian’s John McGinn.
That would still leave £33m to spend, with which they could replace Tierney, bolstering their attack as well and maybe even take a gamble on reported target, Uruguayan international Giorgian De Arrascaeta.
