Aston Villa booked their spot in the final of the EFL Cup courtesy of a 2-1 win over Leicester City in the second leg of their semi-final on Tuesday night.
The result saw Villa advance 3-2 on aggregate with Trezeguet coming up with a spectacular winner for the home side in second-half stoppage time.
It was a special night for the fans, but it was also a special occasion for Keinan Davis as the forward made his return from injury off the bench.
Indeed, the 21-year-old replaced Mbwana Samatta in the 67th minute of the contest, and a number of Villa fans were delighted with his contribution.
According to WhoScored, the attacker completed four dribbles and boasted a pass success rate of 80% during his time on the field.
Meanwhile, a number of other fans were just keen to welcome Davis back into the fold.
Red Herring or Real Hero: Only hardcore Villa fans will get all of them right….
The former England Under-20 international had been on the sidelines since the end of October with a hamstring problem, missing Villa’s last 14 Premier League games.
Davis proved his fitness ahead of the clash with Leicester, though, and will surely have been glad to put his recent problems behind him.
Next up for Villa is a trip to Bournemouth in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon, and it will be interesting to see whether Davis will earn his first league minutes since the end of October.
Meanwhile, a number of the club’s fans have been reacting to a very surprising loan claim as the transfer window approaches its latter stages.
