Lee Bowyer has given some positive injury news ahead of Charlton Athletic’s match against Queens Park Rangers on Saturday, as reported by News Shopper.
What’s the story?
Jonny Williams and Sam Field are both set to be available for the match at the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium, having overcome their respective injuries.
The pair have missed ten and nine games respectively after being stretchered off the pitch, adding to the injury crisis Charlton have suffered from in recent months.

That struggle was best embodied by the fact that Bowyer was only able to field five substitutes against Sheffield Wednesday.
Fortunes are beginning to be changed though in this regard, with the largest bonus so far being that Lyle Taylor has been back involved with the squad for three games.
Speaking about Williams and Field, Bowyer said: “Jonny will start training with us on Monday, then he’ll be ready for the weekend, as long as he gets through training all week.
“Sam comes back to us on Wednesday, he’s been training with West Brom outdoors for a while, hopefully, if he’s good Thursday and Friday he’ll be in the squad for QPR. I’m hoping he looks good and then he’ll be on the bench.”
Turning a corner
With Taylor now firmly on his way back, as well as the likes of Williams and Field joining him, there could be a sign that Charlton are beginning to turn a corner.
The squad will still have players missing, but it should definitely help to have the midfield pair available moving forward.
There can also be encouragement taken from Friday night’s game, even though it will be bitterly disappointing to have surrendered the lead in the 95th minute.
It may not have ended their winless run, which has now extended to ten, but it showed progress, while it also ended a streak of four consecutive losses.
Whose Line Is It Anyway: Roy Keane, Graeme Souness or Adrian Durham?
Standing just six points above the relegation zone, Charlton will need to start getting more on the board, as it is never good to get dragged into it.
They are now getting closer to having the conditions that allow them to do that.
In other news, FFC has suggested that Charlton cannot afford to let their key man leave in January.
