Earlier in the campaign, Mount dealt with two separate injuries and last season, he missed three months due to a calf issue. Ruben Amorim's arrival as head coach was thought to have infused a fresh lease of life for Mount, but the latest injury setback has once again complicated matters for the English midfielder.
WHAT MOUNT & AMORIM SAID
Mount expressed his frustration and disappointment over the situation through social media last week. In an Instagram post, he wrote: “Words can’t portray how devastated I’m feeling right now. You could probably see the look on my face when it happened. I knew what it meant.”
Speaking ahead of United’s clash with Bournemouth, Amorim confirmed that the midfielder would be out for an extended period.
"Several weeks [out]," he said. "I don’t know the exact date, but it’s going to be for long. And that’s it, it’s part of football and you continue."

Mount is not the only player Amorim has been forced to make do without in recent games. Victor Lindelof, and Luke Shaw are also currently unavailable due to injuries, while Matthijs de Ligt missed the Bournemouth game through illness, though the Dutchman is expected to return to the fold this week.
